- Shake it Off: Vigorously shake the tree outside before bringing it indoors to dislodge loose pests. Many lots have mechanical shakers—use them!
- Inspect with Light: Use a flashlight to check the trunk and inner branches for egg sacs or bugs.
- DO NOT Spray: Never use aerosol bug sprays on a Christmas tree—they are highly flammable!
